Enjoy pottery throwing with your friends, family or work team!
You can book the studio exclusively for your own use, and are welcome to bring a bottle, a “Gin-in-a-Tin”, nibbles, or anything else you would like! (We've even had a pizza delivery!) Personal tuition is provided with lots of hands on help designed for total beginners.
We'll learn to centre the clay on the wheel, and from that to make a cylinder bowl or vase.
You'll make a functional piece by the end. Not only useful, but a lovely reminder of a fun evening with your friends.
Friends and Family private sessions are Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 - 8.30pm. If you would like another time (for example for a work team event in the daytime) please get in touch as there is some availability during the week.
To book, scroll through the calendar on the booking page to find available dates (circled) - or get in touch to arrange another time.
An afternoon is a short time to learn the skill of throwing. Realistically, people new to throwing will make a small bowl or pot - which are not to be underestimated! Super useful for nuts, olives or jewellery!
One finished piece each is included as part of the course fee. It's better to consider the environment and recycle extra pieces, but if you would like them they will be £5 each.
You can choose your piece to be glazed in one of our studio glazes - we have a range of contemporary colours from neutrals to blues and greens.
This happens after the piece is dried and bisc fired (which takes 2-3 weeks).
If you would like to glaze yourself or paint a pattern, you are welcome to return when the piece is bisc fired to do this (at no extra charge).
